PRI trainers provide for a variety of learning styles by utilizing techniques such as lecture, group discussion, small group exercises and discussion, case studies, and structured activities.  Highly interactive sessions build upon participant attitudes, behaviors, and knowledge.  We place an emphasis on creating an atmosphere of trust and safety where participants are encouraged to communicate openly and with mutual respect, to try out new thoughts and practice new behaviors.  Trainers utilize a variety of audio and visual aids including a participant workbook, newsprint and easel, overhead transparencies, and film clips.

Train the Trainer Programs  . 

PRI offers a Train the Trainer and Licensing Plan for organizations who find benefit in having their internal training staff conduct a PRI designed program.  The plan is available for customized pre-designed programs as well as new programs specifically developed to meet a need or interest in your organization. 

Components of the Train the Trainer Plan: 

I.       Confirmation of Program Design 

    Program objectives, content, design and customization are agreed upon. 

II.      Program Demonstration 

    PRI trainer conducts the training program in the organization.  Internal trainers attend as part of the participant group. 

III.    Training Manual 

    Internal trainers receive a detailed training manual which includes: 

    • objectives for the trainer
    • a timed outline of the program broken down into specific modules
    • step-by-step instructions on how to set up and deliver each module and all structured activities
    • a script for each content presentation
    • suggestions on what to anticipate and how to handle challenging situations and questions
    • a complete camera-ready set of transparency masters
    • a camera-ready master copy of the participant materials to be duplicated as needed

IV.     Trainer Preparation and Practice 

    Internal trainers meet with the PRI trainer to debrief the training program, review each module and its methodology, review the training manual and materials, and conduct a Q&A. In addition, trainers practice the delivery of the modules and are provided with feedback to help fine tune their performance. 

    PRI trainer provides telephone consultation and coaching as needed to help internal trainers become comfortable with delivery of the program.  

V.      Co-Training (optional) 

    Internal trainers may elect to co-train their first program delivery with the PRI trainer. The PRI trainer provides one-on-one planning and coaching prior to delivery via telephone to prepare the internal trainer for his/her role.  Following the session, PRI trainer and internal trainer participate in a debrief and feedback session to fine tune trainer performance. 

VI.     Licensing 

    The organization is given permanent permission to conduct the program internally and to duplicate the materials for internal use as desired.
